General feedback on blogs

1. The order should be:
Your name and candidate number
introduction only use Voci for this, not for evaluation questions, its not detailed enough.
Final version of main task
link to final version of prelim task and link back to main blog site
evaluation questions, numbered 1-7
research & planning
prelim task
research and planning

2. Question 7 that refers to the prelim task, should feature the prelim task!!!

3. Many evaluation responses were far too short, refer back to your research tasks and theory notes to make these much more involved.

4. All products should feature at least 4 different images.

5. Links should be embedded, not just the URL lettered link.

6. Spelling mistakes!

7. Check that all your links work.

Deadlines

You should aim to fully complete your magazine work and evaluation questions before half term.

It should all be uploaded onto your blog in the following order:

Magazine front cover
contents
double page spread

These should all enlarge when clicked on and they must be legible ( it must be possible to read the font clearly)
You should then have your evaluation answers,
then your audience and generic research, planning and prep pages.
You should have a clear link to your 6th form magazine site (if it is a different blog)

Work for this week

You need to edit and upload your audience feedback films.
DOn't forget to highlight key words and terminology as you edit by adding subtitles to your footage.
You must also show your product to your original focus group.
Think about what your audience has suggested  then make amendments as you see fit, or if you decide to ignore them, write about why, or you could present this in a video diary style.

The next stage of the process is the evaluation. We will go over these questions next week but you could start thinking about them.

In the evaluation the following seven questions must be addressed:

1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

2. How does your media product represent particular social groups?

3. What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

4. Who would be the audience for your media product?

5. How did you attract/address your audience?

6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

7. Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

You should aim to use as many different presentational devices as possible to present your answers to these.
eg powerpoint, prezi, avatar, sliderocket, podcast, video, googledocs, scribd- can you find any others? I should think you can!

Deadlines

Your magazine should be finished now.
You need to get your audience feedback filmed, edited and uploaded (via You tube) by the end of the week.

You should use the Christmas holidays to start thinking about your evaluation. Remember, you will have your mock exams as soon as you get back so the more you can do on your evaluation, the better.

There will be no more lesson time on these projects, you will be expected to complete it in your homework/study time and the whole project will be submitted and your blogs completed by the end of January.

You will carry on studying TV Drama with Miss Midwinter and will start on the second exam topic, the UK Film Industry with me.
